Welcome!
My name’s Jason Kincade; I’m GorpStew’s Blogster. I manage this site and write posts describing my decades of adventures in prospecting for gold…among other topics.
If you just ‘wheeled’ in here from an internet highway off ramp…a new arrival to GorpStew, you can find out a lot more about me, the blog, and my plans for development, by reading GorpStew’s Homepage.
Enough of me though. I’m here to speak to you while extending an invitation to join our honorary staff…as a contributing author!
I would like to publish your ‘true’ story to our exciting new category, appropriately titled, Image…there to be posted for the entire world to access and enjoy. Tim Saylor, an old prospecting buddy, has started us off with his inspirational read…Tim Saylor Goes Prospecting for Gold, quickly followed by two more insightful articles. Thanks Tim…I sure enjoyed your writing (as have many others)! I hope to see much more from you!
Why not join Tim and send us your story today? Pick an interesting period or event from your life (or someone else’s), and put it on paper. As long as it is true, interesting, and meets minimum standards of clarity and good taste, you will see it appear on GorpStew…very soon!
What’s in it for you? The enjoyment and fulfillment that comes from creating and seeing your work published on the internet. For most, that’s enough; for the minority, nurturing higher aspirations, I can’t predict what lucrative forces could be set in motion by publishing to the net, odds are…none at all. Still, I can imagine it possible, that creative and marketable talent and fire, unrecognized until now, could be unleashed.
What’s in it for me? I get to encourage budding writers and provide a free platform from which they can post articles…kind of a feel good thing. Secondly, it’s my intention to see GorpStew pay for its existence…someday. From the potential increased traffic generated by guest authors, I expect to realize more revenue from ads that I display site wide; if income ever exceeds expenses…terrific!
If response to our campaign blooms, we may open up a fiction category too. (I could get into that… both reading and writing).

It’s easiest, and most efficient, to compose your script at home, at your leisure, using a word processing program such as MS Word or Notepad. Copy and paste your story to our online form. If you are unable to access a word processing program, I will consider submissions typed, copied, and pasted to our form from your email editor. In fact, I will be happy to consider handwritten scripts, if that’s your only option.
If your entry is short, and you prefer, you may use our form, exclusively, to compose and submit your work.
I have no minimum or maximum restrictions on your story’s length. Any work from a couple of paragraphs to a few pages is acceptable to me, provided it meets minimum standards, as mentioned above.
I’m looking forward to reading your story and publishing it too! (Photos, when offered as an enhancement to your article, will be considered for inclusion).
Thanks. I hope you have fun with this…I am going to!
Jason
